Association between Light-Intensity and Moderate-to-Vigorous-Intensity Physical Activity Habits and Kidney Dysfunction: A General Population Cohort Study

چکیده
Few studies have considered physical activity (PA) intensity and frequency in relation to kidney dysfunction. This study aimed investigate the association of regular light intensity, occasional moderate-to-vigorous activities, their combination with function general population. community-based historical cohort included Japanese people aged ≥40 years. Participants were divided into four groups according PA habits: inactive group (neither light-intensity (LPA) nor (MVPA)), LPA (1.5–3.0 metabolic equivalents (METs) for at least 60 min a day), MVPA (>3.0 METs 30 twice week), + (combination MVPA). The primary outcome was 40% decrease estimated glomerular filtration rate from baseline. Cox proportional hazards model used examine between habits function. In total, 72,999 participants this study. During mean follow-up period 5.9 years, 2,989 (4.1%) achieved outcome. Compared neither MVPA, adjusted hazard ratios 0.94 (95% confidence interval (CI), 0.85–1.03; p = 0.182 ) alone, 0.97 CI, 0.85–1.10; id="M2"> 0.618 0.83 0.76–0.91; id="M3"> < 0.001 MVPA. There significant interaction sex habit ( id="M4"> 0.015 ). Generally, combined associated lower risk dysfunction than lack PA. Future are required determine duration protect

Leisure Time Physical Activity of Moderate to Vigorous Intensity and Mortality: A Large Pooled Cohort Analysis
BACKGROUND Leisure time physical activity reduces the risk of premature mortality, but the years of life expectancy gained at different levels remains unclear. Our objective was to determine the years of life gained after age 40 associated with various levels of physical activity, both overall and according to body mass index (BMI) groups, in a large pooled analysis. METHODS AND FINDINGS We e...
متن کاملAssociations of light, moderate, and vigorous intensity physical activity with longevity. The Harvard Alumni Health Study.
Physical activity is associated with better health; however, the optimal intensity of activity remains unclear. A total of 13,485 men (mean age, 57.5 years) from the Harvard Alumni Health Study reported their walking, stair climbing, and sports/recreation in 1977. Between 1977 and 1992, 2,539 died. After adjusting for the different activity components, distance walked and storeys climbed indepe...
متن کاملIndividuals Underestimate Moderate and Vigorous Intensity Physical Activity
BACKGROUND It is unclear whether the common physical activity (PA) intensity descriptors used in PA guidelines worldwide align with the associated percent heart rate maximum method used for prescribing relative PA intensities consistently between sexes, ethnicities, age categories and across body mass index (BMI) classifications. OBJECTIVES The objectives of this study were to determine wheth...
متن کاملDo Moderate‐Intensity and Vigorous‐Intensity Physical Activities Reduce Mortality Rates to the Same Extent?
BACKGROUND Limited data exist directly comparing the relative benefits of moderate- and vigorous-intensity activities with all-cause and cardiovascular (CV) disease mortality rates when controlling for physical activity volume. METHODS AND RESULTS We followed 7979 men (Harvard Alumni Health Study, 1988-2008) and 38 671 women (Women's Health Study, 1992-2012), assessing their physical activity...
متن کاملContribution of Walking to School to Individual and Population Moderate-Vigorous Intensity Physical Activity: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
PURPOSE This study estimated the contribution of walking to/from school to objectively measured daily moderate-vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA) in individuals and populations. METHODS MEDLINE, PsycINFO and SPORTDiscus were systematically searched up to February 2015. Two reviewers independently screened titles/abstracts/full-text articles, and assessed study quality. RESULTS Of 2...
